Shazam!

Subtlety is not my strong suit.

I know that it usually happens gradually, like the erosion of a mountain. However there are times when vast chucks of the rock must lurch suddenly and slide into the ocean. This is one of those times. But here is where comparisons with a mountain must end.

Essentially, I felt the time was nigh, or at the very least, appropriate for me to revaluate the character design, and make them a little more visually arresting. This is mostly inspired by this comic, in which I noticed that my friend Louis was pretty much dominating the entire frame. The eye is instantly drawn to him, much as it is in real life. Mason and Charlie, however, are far more bland-looking. They are, essentially, simply long-face and round-face, and I felt it necessary to make them a little more recognisable. This is a very big step for me, to suddenly shift the entire look of my two central characters, and I'm more than a bit nervous that it will take me a while to get used to drawing this way. I'm concerned I may have screwed the pooch on this one (presuming the afore-mentioned canine is indeed present to be molested.) but along with the nervousness, there's a notable excitement as well. I can't wait to see how things turn out from now on. What changes will tomorrow bring? A new font, perhaps? Things could be getting all crazy up in here.

So, presuming you've not yet already read the latest comic, and are now just sitting through my drivel out of politeness (or maybe there's just something else you'd really rather not be doing,) then check out the brand new faces of Mason and Charlie.

Be sure to email me to let me know your thoughts. Dear God I'm lonely.
